Went for a quick skate ski at lunch. Unfortunately the conditions weren't as good as I expected based on my visit two days ago. The grooming was stale and the skate lane surface a bit hard (this may have been a good thing in view of the horde of high school kids on snowshoes running all over the ski trails...). It was still good to be out in the warm sunshine, and as I usually say it was "worth the drive" (but in this case the drive was 5 minutes...)

Let's hope for fresh grooming tomorrow!

Didn't ski but had a quick look at the trails on my way to work. Grooming was underway and conditions look very good. The grooming extends around the main loop by the river and over the hill.

I have not skied at Mooney's Bay in years, but was really pleasantly surprised on my outing today--it was fantastic.

Grooming is awesome, snow was fast, all in all, a great little ski (lesson, actually).

for the classic skier, this is a super spot to work on technique as well as actually ski. The Classic tracks looked to be in excellent condition.

I highly recommend this gem in almost the middle of our city.

I didn\'t ski Mooney\'s Bay but had a quick look on my way to work. The trail network appears to have been freshly groomed and looks good.

Fresh Grooming for stadium trails only. Crusty ice mixed with fresh, powdery snow made for pleasant, if a little crunchy morning ski. The groomer seemed to be put away before the classic and skate loops had been groomed. Perhaps they'll be groomed later? Hope so, at least after the new snow we're getting today.

Though the trails are groomed, its rather lumpy and bumpy. Seems the snow on top of an ice base got groomed, not ice being chopped up.
