Green Belt

Trails Skied: 45, 46, Glide Wax: Vhauti blue -2 to -15, Grip Wax: blue extra

First time skiing Pinegrove since winter of 2022. In May of that year we got the infamous derecho which decimated a large swath of trees here. The east side of the area has been mostly clear cut and unrecognizable. Track 45C through here is lumpy and uneven and I don't recommend it. The rest of Pinegrove 45D, E, F and G are good and have the wide pathway which was groomed this morning while I was there. About 4-5 cms of new snow was a bonus and the skiing was easy and effortless with the newly set tracks at about mid depth.

Kichi Sibi Winter Trail

The National Capital Greenbelt has over 100km of trails and another 25km of recreational pathways, most of which are suitable for cross-country skiing in the wintertime. All of the trails are suitable for beginner and family outings. Some are now maintained by volunteer groomers; OWWT, BWT, SHE, Kichi Sibi.

ONSC grooms The Hornet's Nest (Tauvette street to Montreal Rd), Mer Bleue and Pine Grove Forest (the section off Leitrum Rd). Trails are classic skiing ONLY, no skating is allowed on these trails. The Hornet's Nest is groomed at least weekly and the others as time permits. Updated trail conditions are available at the snow phone; 613-837-SNOW.
