Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, Glide Wax: Purple, Grip Wax:

Today's skate skiing on Fortune was WONDERFUL! There is quite a bit more snow than on Friday, and both the pavement and the grass are covered. There are only a few thin spots left and they are on the last Km down to the parking lot - and they are easy to see. Most of the Fortune Parkway felt like mid Winter and was "as good as it gets".
I checked out Ridge to Shilly Shally, but there were still lots of rocks and it's too thin to ski consistently at the moment.
The Champlain parkway also still needs a bit more snow for carefree skating to the Lookout, although some skaters have evidently managed it. I skied on the edges where there is good cover. Heading towards Lac Bourgeois has full coverage, but I didn't get past the first hill as it was getting dark. Let's hope for more snow tonight!
