Gatineau Park
Trails Skied: Gatineau Pkwy, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:
In the Park, in the dark. Skate-skied Gamelin to Pink in hazy moonlight. Conditions were fast, easy-floatingly fast. Tracksets to left and right seemed to encroach on the skate lane. Saw a couple dozen other denizens of the darkness--some with headlamps--some without. I began saying a cheery hello to all of them but got so carried away I almost said hello to a signpost that loomed out of the darkness.
Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery.
