Green Belt

Trails Skied: SHE FULL, Glide Wax: Blue, Grip Wax: Universal klister

Used the SHE to commute to work from P5-Blair with a trip around the Airport-Marina Road loop. It was firm and fast at I was out before the Goldilocks hour (not to hard, not too soft but just right) which I imagine was about 11-12 today. Groomers had done a good job of setting fresh classic tracks that were firm but not ice. The centre lane is hard packed, but an edge could be had by 10am if you were trying to skate.

Lots of snow left so if we don't get too much rain, and it doesn't get too trampled while its really soft, skiing should be possible for a few weeks.

Kichi Sibi Winter Trail

The National Capital Greenbelt has over 100km of trails and another 25km of recreational pathways, most of which are suitable for cross-country skiing in the wintertime. All of the trails are suitable for beginner and family outings. Some are now maintained by volunteer groomers; OWWT, BWT, SHE, Kichi Sibi.

ONSC grooms The Hornet's Nest (Tauvette street to Montreal Rd), Mer Bleue and Pine Grove Forest (the section off Leitrum Rd). Trails are classic skiing ONLY, no skating is allowed on these trails. The Hornet's Nest is groomed at least weekly and the others as time permits. Updated trail conditions are available at the snow phone; 613-837-SNOW.
