Was sure glad to see grooming already well underway at 7:15 am this morning at P5. Anything ungroomed is clearly going to be a major slog today. We found the classic skiing good on Gatineau and Champlain parkways. You can skate if you want to but I wouldn't recommend it yet - no matter how they groom you will be regularly punching through until a bit more time has passed. And oh, yeah -watch out for the wind - definitely stings the face more than you might expect. As for when to do your Gatineau Loppet? This snow is great - but today is not the day!
Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery.
