Trails Skied: 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12a, 12b, 12, 100, 101 North, 102, 103, 104, 106, 107, TCT, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: Vauhti Carrot

Skied classic all trails last night. Started at 401 and double poled all trails. For the most part I had the these trails to myself. Conditions were excellent and a real opportunity missed by many. There is a certain satisfaction of pulling off the 417 on the way home and seeing the line of traffic as you make your way around. Trackset was great. Sections of 106 have trackset on both sides which makes it difficult for skaters to avoid skiing over the classic tracks due to the overall track width. There is a longer patch of ice on 106 near the junction with 101.

Crossed over to 411 and skied up trail 2 to ski the upper trails. Classic tracks were good and positioned well in terms of steeper grades. The on the south legs of trails 8 and 1 (sections running east west) leveling had been completed due to the undulating terrain and no tracks had been set as more snow is needed, the cover is thin but good at the top of the "bumps" in these areas, however. Many more skiers at 411.

Back at 401, I met someone who was just setting out and was unaware that the gates are locked at 9:00 (i.e. you are locked in for the night)

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
