Kanata Nordic

Trails Skied: 1, 2, 6, 8, 12, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

The classic tracks are shallow and worn thin, but the snow is still in great shape on the upper trails, making for 4-flake conditions for classic. The skate tracks look great though, probably 5-flake or close to it. Not much debris yet, although more deer poop than usual. Not much deer traffic on the actual trails, although I saw 7 today, including two who were still lounging on trail 6 itself as I skied through. Trail 12 has had some ground water seep through at the bottom of the eastern hill, with a patch of sheer ice right in the middle of the trail, so watch for that.

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
