Trails Skied: #50, Glide Wax: Blue, Grip Wax:

Skied out of P19 today on pretty much perfect tracks. Only skied 1 trail today (50)... but I skied most of it (out and back)so that added up. Excellent grooming for skate with pretty easy glide. Leaving at noon I still had a decent quantity of corduroy to work with. A bit busy near the start and into the shelters but once I skied down along Lac Phillipe things got quieter as I went along until I got to the Healey cutoff and the traffic picked up a little more. Never really busy though - perhaps the cooler temperatures and Winterlude activities, not to mention the CSM cut into the crowds.

As others had mentioned, the classic tracks were full of leaves in spots and bare in others. Still saw my share of classic skiers who seemed to be making good progress. I got tripped up once or twice hitting a leaf or a twig and having my ski all but stop dead. Seems to be a bad year for leaves (worse than any I can remember). Perhaps the early snow in November had a downside? Maybe that's a stretch - how can there be a downside to early snow.

When I finally turned around I discovered I had had a tailwind on my outbound journey. That made things a little colder coming back but I remain undeterred and will be back out tomorrow no doubt.
