Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #2 (blue), #1 (green) (#2 - #24), #2 (from #40 to #1), #24, #40, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: blue v30

A very nice day out. Air temp -5C and no significant wind experienced at ground level on the specific trails we skied, despite the somewhat worrisome weather forecast. Trails were fast and a bit hard, so care was needed on all downhill sections. Lots of skiers were out, parking lots P12 and P8 were both full, and P9 was not far behind. On the trails, there were quite a few areas where leaves were in the classic tracks: oak, beech and maple, plus others I couldn't recognize. Additionally, trail 2 black had a gritty area at the top of the climb (see pic). The run down into Western was fine all the way. There were people sharing all benches in the cabin, but nobody had to stand and everyone was genial, resulting in a very pleasant lunchtime. Sun was coming out on the return trip; a very nice run back to P12.
