Kanata Nordic

Trails Skied: 100, 101 North, 102, 103, 104, 106, TCT, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Skied all trails at 401 except 106 & 107 in the woods which are rough due to lack of snow. Trails groomed yesterday and had 3 or 4 cm of new snow. New snow was perfect for a snowman which is great as new snow is softening up the ice base.

Skate conditions are good with only a few locations with grass poking through. Grooming scheduled for Saturday morning will freshen things up.

Classic tracks varied from good to fair. New snow covered up much of the ice base. In some areas limited snow cover makes for shallow tracks.

It is great to finally have WCP as an alternative for a quick ski and avoid the longer drive to the Gats.

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
