Kanata Nordic

Trails Skied: 101 North, 102, 103, 104, 106, 107, TCT, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

What great skiing for this time of year! Got out for a ski in the dark this evening and forgot my headlamp, yet that wasn't much of a problem. Conditions were easily handled with a good pair of waxless rock skis. Any bare spots (including the creek that is still open and running) were fairly obvious.

Stuck to the lower trails - Much of 101 is rolled while the rest has a pretty good track skied in. The TCT was especially nice, though poles were hitting the ground. A few more centimeters and I imagine groomers will be able to do their magic.

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
