Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #40, #1 (blue), Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Skate ski from P12 to fire tower. As I was hoping conditions were better than on the more traveled trails from P10. Very hard, but not so hard that you could not get an edge. Few ruts beyond Wolf trail, with almost pristine corduroy and classic tracks in places... but all pretty rock hard, so not advisable to let loose on the downhills. McKinstry to FT was in very decent crust skiing conditions.
This must all have changed by now with the freezing rain, so this report is probably pointless. But again: not one bare spot, and thick coverage in most places. There will be portages soon, but I expect we will be skiing next week-end, with likely (hopefully?) some long stretches of very good skiing.

Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery. The NCC offers season or daily pay rates.
