Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, #1, #1 (green) (#2 - #24), Glide Wax: 3 to -3, Grip Wax:

I was in Mexico yesterday afternoon. I almost went to the gym this morning but am thrilled to say I skied on April 12.

ROUTE: P10 up to the Champlain Parkway and out 1 to the second bench. And back again.

SKATE: Generally fair conditions, excellent for this time of year. Demsis was on their way down the FLP when I started around 10:10 and the snow was still corny on the way up. There were a few grey spots by the lake where the sun do shine, but it was really easy skiing. The Champlain Parkway is much mushier and there are a couple of spots where you have to walk gently across the grass for a couple of meters. I am not sure long it will be until you have to take your skis off. Ridge (1) was solid but getting soft and slushy as the day went on. Going back was much more mushy but still quite good.

TRAFFIC: P10 was almost full at 10 and emptying out around noon.

THANKS: I put my boots away when I left for Mexico but left my skis in the car, I thought, out of laziness. As others have said, Demsis has done a magnificent job this season especially considering the sometimes weird and often wonderful conditions. Everyone has certainly gotten their full value out of whatever pass they bought this year.
