Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #1 Penguin Climb, #6, #34, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Just a quick toot this morning up Penguin and around 19-34-6. Trail 1 is hard and fast but entirely manageable. The backcountry trails range from icy in open areas where they melted in the sun to soft tracks in the deep woods. For those of you old enough to remember T-bars and poma lifts at ski hills, sometimes the trails felt like the lift tracks in spring - very fast ruts that challenge you to keep your balance.

We shall see how this all survives with the coming of warmer weather.
