Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Gatineau Pkwy, #5 (green), Glide Wax: Vauhti Violet, Grip Wax:

Went for a skate today, while my wife was classic, from P3. We did some of the Gatineau parkway and all of #5. There was a good amount of fresh snow, perhaps 7-8 cm, and there was not any grooming yet (at least before noon).

I found the snow very nice for skating, I was gliding very well through the fresh stuff with Vhauti Violet. It was deep, and while the glide itself was good, my tips were pushing snow and slowing me. The area will probably get skied out as the day progresses though.

As for classic, the tracks were being maintained by skiers. Watch what grip wax you pick because my wife and several others had serious issues with snow clumping and sticking to their skis. Swix red, violet, or violet special were not the choices this morning!
