Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #1 Penguin Climb, #6, #34, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

On the drive up I was thinking "Do all of Skyline. It's probably very good." But when I got there, it was -20C, I was skiing on my own, and no one was around. I reasoned that if I lost it on one of the trickier downhills, I would not be found until tomorrow when I would be a human popsicle. So I took the more benign 19-34-6 route instead which is less likely to send you off into a tree. It was very nice. The descent on #1 was fast and glorious. At the Penguin bottleneck, there were two 10 year old kids making a ski jump with a snow shovel. That might be a surprise in the dark until it gets groomed away. I did not see any accompanying adults. Quite strange.
