Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #2 (blue), #2 (from #40 to #1), #38, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: green v20 with blue extra v40 kicker

A beautiful day out. Quite a few skiers were out on the main trails. Classic and skate tracks were in excellent condition. Back country trail 38 was a bit more work, but well worth the detour from 40. The drop on 38 to snowshoe trail 62 was a bit tricky and there were a few climbs requiring half herringbone or side stepping. Our waxes worked very well and the downhill runs were nice and fast. The only minor issue on the trip was that two sets of bootprints were in the corduroy section of trail 2 on the descent down to 40 then along 40 to P12. They had made enough of an impression in the snow to require a bit more caution than otherwise. Best to get out before tomorrow afternoon's freezing rain.
