Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #24, #40, #1 (blue), Glide Wax: LF yellow, Grip Wax: Waxless

Trail 40, 24, Ridge to Fire Tower, Ridge to water tank, 24, 40

Take 3! Finally made it to the Fire Tower before the season ended!

I laughed when I saw that Ken and Paul had also started at P12. I know that Craig's positive report yesterday inspired me to try again after Monday's slog. I have little to add, except that my waxless skis worked really well today (not fast, but an acceptable balance of grip and glide). I stayed out until almost 6:00, lingering with the camera. It's fantastic to not have to worry about freezing to death! The sun never did appear, the temperatures remained fairly low, and the snow changed very little over the course of the day. There were a few bare spots, one place where tracks were swallowed up, and one creek crossing. No need to remove skis at any time, though.

Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery. The NCC offers season or daily pay rates.
