Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, #1, #3, Glide Wax: Vauhti Blue, Grip Wax: Vauhti Orange

Beautiful day for a ski! Lots of skiers (all smiling) out today. The parkways are firm and the tracks well formed. A bit hard to get an edge some places. Ridge Rd. is a bit narrow and crowned from Gossip corner to Shilly Shally. The climb up Kyber Pass is very narrow and scraped bare so keep your head up while descending or climbing. From there to Burma was nice for classic and skate. Burma was exciting! Coverage was very good, didn't notice any rocks but there's not much snow. I skated, since I was under the impression it hadn't been trackset. In fact there were about 17 sets of tracks available which kept you on your toes on the descents. The final descent was bobsled run, or rather a bobsled run for each or your skis.

Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery. The NCC offers season or daily pay rates.
