Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: North Loop, Glide Wax: blue, Grip Wax: vaughti green fluor

It was a very cold morning, with an intense windchill (minus 30 according to Environment Canada, if you can believe it). However with face covering, warm mitts and boot covers, and extra layers, the cold was not a problem providing we kept moving. Rather than trying to ski far in this cold, we focused on drills not too far from our cars.

The park ski conditions page indicates that only the classic tracks were done this morning, however both classic and skate were in top shape. We skied only between P8 and P9 but I expect the rest of the parkway network was groomed similarly. There is no lack of snow on the parkways, and it is good to see it being maintained as the smaller, rockier trails await more snow.

Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery. The NCC offers season or daily pay rates.
