Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: North Loop, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: vaughti orange

I almost went snow shoeing instead of skiing because I kept receiving emails from friends reporting terrible grooming or a lack of classic tracks. This photo was sent to me by a friend who found "the grooming very poor as only P8 to P9 was done in the last 24 hours and all the other parkways were left with huge ledges and narrow skate ski areas. I skied P 5 today and there was a ridge 3 feet wide with grooming marks - dangerous and useless skiing space".

I skied at 3:00, just from P9 to P8, and by then the Doldrums had been groomed and well skied-in by an astounding number of skiers - I've never seen such crowds!! Considering this wear and tear on the trails, I hope Demsis will give the trails the consistent attention they require.

Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery. The NCC offers season or daily pay rates.
