Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Gatineau Pkwy, #5 (green), Glide Wax: Swix CH4, Grip Wax:

I skied from the Gamelin Gate (P3) on Dec 29th mid afternoon. The grooming has been down down the to gate. The parkway is solid hard packed. Great if you are a strong skier, but a bit hard for novices doing skating. The track was in great shape for classic skiing. The Parkway going up Pinks Lake was also in good shape The Trail 5 was groomed from Asticou to where it joins up with the Gatineau Parkway at the base of Pinks Lake. Conditions were hard packed in the middle, but a bit loose on the left side fo the trail (if heading away from Asticou towards Pinks Lake). Overall, good job. Trail 29 and 26 that you can use to connect Trail 5 to the parkway and whose underlying surface is dirt (vs Trail 5 and Parkway which are ashphalt) were not groomed. All in all, plenty of good skiing given the limited snow we have to date. One can use their good skis (not rock skis) on the parkways or trail 5. Solid coverage all around.
