Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, MacKenzie-King Rd , Glide Wax: storage wax!, Grip Wax:

Skated from P6 to the Champlain Lookout, with a short diversion down the FP to the intersection with Ridge Road. The best skating was on the FP and CP between the T and lookout. Conditions there were excellent, since heavy skier traffic had flattened the snow surface and bonded the snow to the icy base. Conditions were fairly good below the T, but the snow was more loose and occasionally tended to slide out from under the ski due to the ice beneath. I used rock skis but good skis could have been used on any part of the trip. For those heading out later today or tomorrow morning my guess is the best skating will be from P10 to the Lookout.
