Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, #1, Glide Wax: CH180, Grip Wax:

Did P10 to gossip corner, up Ridge to Huron and back via CP and FP.
It was winter out there, a wet kind of winter day. It started out as a nice ski. Fresh snow covering the trail. Rather pleasant. The way back was rather wet and slow as it was raining steadily (though not too hard).
It looked like a snowmobile had gone by (with skirt not to damage the trail). I wouldn't call it grooming. But it compacted the fresh snow on top of yesterday's corn snow. It helped make for a flatter surface and smooth gliding on the way up. The snowmobile turned on Ridge to Huron (just where I wanted to go:) and beyond. The CP was in ok condition thanks to the new snow, after yesterday's traffic. The snow was soft enough that skis don't get stuck in ruts. FP was extremely slow on the way back as it was raining more steadily.
I'm glad I was out when I did. Conditions should be fair tonight if it hasn't rained too much during the day. Who knows? Good luck out there.
