Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #40, #1 (blue), Glide Wax: LF10, Grip Wax: Universal Klister

Trail 40 to the Fire Tower. It was the slowest trip ever!! Normally we would have skied it twice in that time. The most recently groomed trails (Ridge and 24) were the fastest and 40 the slowest. It was a beautiful day, though and the sun broke through while we were at the Fire Tower. Interestingly the stretch to the Fire Tower looked to have been groomed in the last day or two.

We were amazed at the quantity of snow still on Ridge. Check out the 2 snow-depth photos, the first taken where the snow is packed at the side of the trail, and the 2nd on trail 40 where snow is still as deep as the lower rail of the bridge.

There was one bare spot only, and Paul's report has a nice photo of it. Very little ice. The steep hill at the base of the Wolf Trail was still well covered although somewhat icy.
