Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #2 (blue), #1 (green) (#2 - #24), #2 (from #40 to #1), #24, #40, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Started out from P12: #40=>#24=>#1=>#2=>Western chalet=> #2=>#40=>P12. I guess it depends were you are in the park, I was doing classic and found the conditions quite good in this area of the park. The classic tracks were at times icy , but in general passable for being last groomed on wednesday.

The only icy spot on Ridge between #24 and Western was at the usual place near the bench were the base is thin and exposed to the sun. Trail #40 & #24 arent exposed to the sun as much so I guess it explains the better surface there.

One problem spot too is the usual descent to Western lodge which is also icy. Trail # 2 the Black section is worth coming down, its in the best shape I have seen it all year, just like a pool table no bumps at all to speak of, you can really fly down there like a luge run and still are able to control your skis.

We will see what tonight's grooming brings, it could be a nice run up to the Fire tower this weekend.
