Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, Glide Wax: LF 10, Grip Wax: waxless

There were relatively few skiers today. It was a hard choice between skiing, walking (but not on the ski trails!) or going for coffee.

Last night's considerable rain had pummeled the trails, but there was no lack of snow. It felt colder than plus 8, and there was a raw wind.

The big black groomer and the little yellow one came by about 11:00, and it made a huge difference. They groomed the Fortune Pkwy, Champlain up to Huron and towards Blacks, but not Ridge. It was great - much faster, and our classic group was able to get grip with both waxless and klister. The skating looked so, so appealing!! The downhills were fast enough to be fun.

My only question is whether they will groom again tonight after the temperatures drop. If not, everything will be very icy. If they do groom at the right time, it will be fantastic.
