Gatineau Park
Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, #1, Glide Wax: Vauhti Violet, Grip Wax: Vauhti Silver/Vauhti Red
It is -2 and still snowing at 11 AM, which of course, is good. The groomers were out this morning on Fortune Parkway, Ridge Road and Burma. While waxing for classic is a bit tricky, skating looks very good, but certainly, expect soft conditions! We used "hairies" with modest success.
Interestingly, the snow seemed more wet at by the Fortune/Ridge Junction than it did on our way up, so keep that in mind. Finally, the best tracks I saw were on Ridge Road (VERY NICE, actually), just because they had been done a bit earlier and were the most solid.
Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery.
The NCC offers season or daily pay rates.
