Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #24, #40, #1 (blue), Glide Wax: Dibloc blue LF + graphite, Grip Wax: Vauhti tar (-10 to -30) + Swix Blue (V30)

A perfect day for a run out to the fire tower with 1 cm of new cold snow, great temperatures, and lots of sun.

P12 => #40 => #24 => #1 => fire tower => #1 => short cut across the pond => #24 => #40 => P12.

#24 & #1 up to #24 were track-set this AM and were in perfect shape. #1 blue & #40 were done Tuesday AM. #1 blue hasn’t had that much traffic so the grooming is still intact and in good shape. #40 has been loved to death over the past three days and is getting somewhat worn - each downhill has parallel furrows (luge-runs) made by snowplowing skiers; however, the snow is soft and there is lots of snow at the side so control is not a problem. The 1 cm dusting of snow has improved #40 and #1 blue - with the cold snow I was able to go up #40 like the proverbial human-fly. The glide was slow in the shade and great in the sun.
