Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Gatineau Pkwy, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: Cold green swix ( withg residual Teho Green!)

This will be such a dull report compared to Charles' "skiing with otters", but I'm glad to be out at all as my knee recovers. The wax was a big question- go with yesterday's Teho green, which worked well on yesterday's icy snow mix, or something more traditional for the fresh dusting of snow we received overnight? Not knowing for sure if there was recent grooming (none indicated by 2:00), I sort of scraped off the Teho, and added several layers of cold green. Surprisingly this sloppy, low tech approach worked brilliantly.

P10 was chaos with cars lining up to get both in and out, so we shifted to P5. One side of the parkway was recently groomed, and one wasn't, so we got to play chicken a few times with skiers coming up on the "wrong" side as we were going down the hills. Near Pink Lake we met two Bombardiers, one doing the skate lane and the other track setting. The skiing back was quite nice, except that it was into the wind. Very cold!

At the parking lot we met Hermann who told us that Ridge and 24 had just been groomed and were in fantastic shape.
