Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #50, #51, #54 (green), #55 (green - shared), #54 (black), Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Started at P19, first skiing in a blizzard, then sunshine, then back to snow, then sun again, funny day. This was my route #50=> #54 Black=> #54 Green=> #55=> #50=> #55=> #51=>P19. Like Ron mentioned in his report no sign of any grooming today at all. Trail # 54 green had one single classic track, I dont know if its been like this all year?

Going up trail #54 black was a good workout, there had not been anyone coming down it when i went through it. I only met some skiers when I arrived about 1/2 km from the end of the trail. Surprisingly the trail was quite good , only spotting a couple of rocks showing, but nothing major. Even the last climb which I call the valley of doom was filled in quite nicely by the snow we got lately.

I spotted tracks going to old trail # 10, and some skier I talked to skied it last week said it was rough, bumpy not enough traffic to pack it down, so if anyone is to try it would suggest rock skis. All things considered even with the lack of grooming was a nice pleasant day to be out.
