Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Gatineau Pkwy , Gatineau Pkwy, #15 (black), Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: vaughti green/Vr30 (weird but it worked)

What a beautiful day! Had intended to ski from P10 and check out Ridge to Western, but the parking lot was bursting by mid afternoon - there were several cars WAITING for spots! On a weekday! I guess more than 2 skiers booked off work! My knee needed something predictable, so I headed to P5, which was almost deserted.

The grooming was the real thing! Machine set classic tracks (and straight ones!), full width skate lane which extended right over to the tracks, everything starting to harden up nicely by that time. Surprise! #15 was also in beautiful condition, so who could resist checking it out! Wish I could have skied it all..... Also checked out the base of Penguin, looked great.

There are two more photos on my blog www.musicianonskis.ca/blog

Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery. The NCC offers season or daily pay rates.
