Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #1 (green) (#2 - #24), #2 (from #40 to #1), #24, #33, #40, #38, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Started out from P12, wow the parking lot was almost full. Lots of traffic on the trails already up #40 had to watch for on coming skiers not even 10 minutes of skiing and must of met a dozen skiers coming back, decided to try out trail # 38 (beaver trail) it was nice except the ending junction with #16 or #62 snowshoe trail lacked snow but was passable. The short section of #16 to ridge which is now shared with snowshoers was a blast.

After a brief ski on ridge went down the hill on # 24 nice no rocks, then back on # 40 for a bit, until the junction of # 33 which was not recommended. I found it good except for one tree root showing a few odd rocks barely showing, but you could avoid them. Then the final descent was on # 2 which was a real treat with lots of loose snow still. But like the other skiers mentioned in the reports some of the steep hills are already a bit icy as is the case with the hill arriving at the parking lot.

Its amazing the website shows 94% of trails recommended, we haven't hit that number in a long time!!!!! I see all the backcountry trails are listed as variable conditions, who knows another dumping of snow and we could see all green check marks on the trails.
