Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #5 (green), #27, Glide Wax: Vaunti Spectra Blue, Grip Wax: N/A

Late afternoon ski just before the lights went out. Trail #5 was decent, level and good for skating. #27 and the field around Skinouk was thin and lumpy, but skiable. A decent amount of snow has fallen since this morning, as you know if you did any driving today. This wasn't last weekends fluff it was small hard flakes that pack well. This sort of snow covers rocks and ice well and the trails will benefit greatly once groomed.

With good grooming by Sunday morning the skiing should be splendid! Have you held off skiing Ridge Road thus far? Tomorrow should be a perfect day for it. The Parkways can now be full width and level with solid deep classic tracks. The secondary trails should be in much better shape than over the past weeks. Don't expect perfect yet, there's still not enough snow for that but at least we have a decent base. Took long enough, we're nearly halfway through the ski season!
