Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: North Loop, Glide Wax: CH7, Grip Wax:

Dusk exercise ski on the Doldrums. By the end of the day skier traffic alone had done a fair job of compacting the skate lane, so conditions were quite enjoyable. Of course the lane was still quite bumpy, due to the total lack of grooming, and there was lots of fresh, loose powder snow to slow things down. It is worth noting that despite the day's accumulated skier traffic there was no sign of exposed ice (the reason given on the NCC web site for not grooming). I concur with others filing reports today that it should have been possible to compact and groom. We've certainly seen successful grooming under much more adverse conditions in previous years.

Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery. The NCC offers season or daily pay rates.
