Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, #1 Penguin Climb, #1, #30, #4, #32, Glide Wax: blue, Grip Wax: carrot

Beautiful evening to be out enjoying the fresh powder. Took a few drops down Penguin before heading out to do a loop of Fortune Lake. No signs of grooming but I wouldn't expect the groomers to be out in force until early Saturday morning. Even then, if the snow continues to fall through the day as predicted, they may have a hard job keeping on top of the ever building snowpack. Still, Saturday could be a great day to get out and do a classic powder ski. Tried one of the BC trails (32) and was reminded that we've only had a few inches of snow since the big melt. Lots of thinly disguised rocks and several open water hazards along that trail so expect a bumpy ride off the main trails. Might be better to stick to the arterial trails for now until we build a little more base.
