Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Gatineau Pkwy, Glide Wax: old, Grip Wax: blue

Skied briefly on the Gatineau Parkway between P5 and Mica. Nice to ski again and a gorgeous day. I'm wondering how Demsis measures snow. I carefully measured 3 centimters (came to over the top of my thumb joint stuck into the snow) of new snow since the meltdown. They claimed there was one. In any case, a grooming would not have helped.

The classic is quite okay, with lots of snow filling the icy beneath. I used ordinary grip, no heroic binders and it worked well. The not so wonderful part is the skate lane. It would be perfect for hockey! I did meet a skier named Daniel who had skated to the Lookout and back, so it is possible. He claimed that it wasn't great, though. The ice in the middle, aside from being just ice, is also very bumpy.

You couldn't have paid me to skate!
