Gatineau Park
Trails Skied: Champlain Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, Glide Wax: purple, Grip Wax:
Skied P5 to the Champlain lookout return via the Gatineau and Champlain parkways (same as last trip but there aren't many places to ski right now!) No fresh grooming but skate conditions were fantastic. Snow was fast but still soft and controllable. Tracks looked a bit icy and classic skiers reported they weren't very fast. I expect conditions will be very good until tomorrow afternoon, when the January Thaw arrives early. Get out tonight or tomorrow morning if you can!
Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery.
