Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Gatineau Pkwy, #5 (green), #26, #29 (alternative), Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

We skied today out of P3 (Gamelin Gate). Conditions were pretty hard packed for both skating and classic (we were doing skating). The parkway has not been groomed but in good condition for skating (but hard). The classic track looked like it could use some new snow. Double poling was very fast. Trail 5 and 26 were both ungroomed but in good shape. Trail 29 coming up to the parkway from Skinouk has a lot of grass protruding through and uneven. I\'d recommend coming up Trail 26 to the parkway instead. The tracks coming down pinks lakes are shallow and a bit \"wavy\" (left to right) and can dissappear at times, so keep your eyes open for that on the high speed descents. Definitely a good day for a double pole workout if your balance is not that great. If you have good balance, you\'ll fly.
