Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, Champlain Pkwy, #1, #2 (blue), Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: blue extra v40 outbound, red / silver on return

Taking Jo Anne's comments into account, we arrived at P10 before 08:00 but it was absolutely plugged. Air temp -4C when we left P9, climbed a very dirty trail 32 to the FLP where classic skiing was much better. Encountered debris and bare spots along 1 between FLP and 1b but from 1b to 2 good conditions again and skate skiers were in abundance. Trail 2 down to Western Shelter was in very nice condition, but icy and fast. Return trip got tough on the CP near the lookout. Things were softening up and grip was very poor, but no surprise since it is spring now. Once past Huron it was plain sailing all the way to 32. Hordes of skiers on the CP and FLP and even a few in shorts. On arrival at P9, it was almost full; there were just 4 vehicles when we had left just after 8. Anyway, still lots of snow up there!
