Green Belt

Trails Skied: 10, Glide Wax: universal, Grip Wax: silver klister

A final ski in the Larose Forest on the Bourget side for me. The groomers have called it a season. Effective Monday trails will be closed until the start of the summer season. No new grooming for several days now but the tracks were in good shape with some thin sections. Base is still firm with no sinking snow. I did the stretch down to the Perron Loop. Snow was clean all the way. Intended to do the Perron Loop but the tracks were completely faded. Did a stretch through the pines on the way back but conditions were dirty, pine branches, bare sections, etc. Open and hardwood sections are your best bet if you want a final ski this weekend!

Kichi Sibi Winter Trail

The National Capital Greenbelt has over 100km of trails and another 25km of recreational pathways, most of which are suitable for cross-country skiing in the wintertime. All of the trails are suitable for beginner and family outings. Some are now maintained by volunteer groomers; OWWT, BWT, SHE, Kichi Sibi.

ONSC grooms The Hornet's Nest (Tauvette street to Montreal Rd), Mer Bleue and Pine Grove Forest (the section off Leitrum Rd). Trails are classic skiing ONLY, no skating is allowed on these trails. The Hornet's Nest is groomed at least weekly and the others as time permits. Updated trail conditions are available at the snow phone; 613-837-SNOW.
