Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Gatineau Pkwy , North Loop, Glide Wax: Same as yesterday, Grip Wax:

An okay skate morning. Imagining sugar snow and deep tilling after yesterday's warm temperatures I intended an epic (for me) distance ski but the grooming was disappointing. I quit after a modest ski with many photo breaks. On the north loop one half was somewhat recently tilled while the other half seemed to have been groomed wet. The classic tracks were varied and shallow. On the descent to P8 the tracks often split into 3.
On the other side of Meech Lake Road conditions were better, at least on the right side heading to Mica. On the other side, the snow was hard and icy and did not appear to have been tilled at all.
In any case, it was a beautiful morning. Once my skis started to slow down I headed home. Time to rewax!
