Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, #1, #3, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax: violet (useless) then red/silver (better)

Only Trail 3 was freshly groomed, however FLP and Trail 1 were both in good shape. Air temp -4C when we left P10; +1C on our return. Grip wax on classic skis was not the way to go today; hairies were by far the better choice (my partner's skis). The tracks were very fast, but always with easy downhill control. P10 had 30 or so cars on our arrival at 07:50 so we got one of the last few spaces. Lots of skate skiers out; they were flying along. Trail 3 was an absolute joy, both for the skiing and the gorgeous morning and scenery. We rested outside Huron Shelter, watching the birds at the feeder, then headed back. Nice very fast run down 1 to Shilly Shally as well as down the FLP to a full P10 at 10:00. There was turnover there at that time, however, with just a few minutes wait for arriving cars.
