Kanata Nordic

Trails Skied: 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 12, Glide Wax: waxless, Grip Wax:

Conditions were fantastic when I set out shortly after 11 am, but when I finished shortly after 12 the snow was already starting to get a bit sticky on my waxless skis, so consider waxing if you head out this afternoon. Classic tracks are present in most places with decent depth still, and the new snow freshened them up nicely. The skate surface had a couple of cm of loose powder on top. A large herd of children was walking along the east side of trail 1, but mostly staying out of the classic tracks, but a segment of the skate track is a bit chewed up along there.

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
