Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: Fortune Pkwy, #1, #1B, #3, Glide Wax: CH7, Grip Wax:

I headed out from P10 into the lightly falling snow this morning and skated up the FLP, took Ridge Road west to 1B, followed 1B until it rejoined Ridge, then continued west on Ridge to the closest junction with the Wolf Trail before returning to P10 via Burma. There had been no fresh grooming, but with a couple of centimeters of fresh snow over the skate lane it really didn't matter. Glide was good and my skis tracked without skittering. The Burma final descent was a delight with just enough fresh snow to keep things under control without severely cutting speed. Overall it was one of the most enjoyable skis of the year, and it looks like these conditions will hold through the afternoon. Quite a few other smiling skiers were out enjoying the descents on Burma, but there were still a few parking spots open in P10 when I returned.
