Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #52, Glide Wax: Green, Grip Wax: Blue

It was a great day to be out. The trail was a little icy in spots. There is a lot of single track on one side, and the side that was groomed switched from side to side so skiers were often having to get out of the track if they were on the "wrong side". My blue wax let me climb straight up hills without having to herringbone. The NCC website shows this as a green recommended trail although there is a yellow caution sign indicating a steep hill. The trail signs on the trail show a difficult stretch at the far west side. One skier on the trail found the hills too steep to climb and had taken her skis off for both the uphills and downhills. The person must have lost courage because then they walked some flat areas in their ski boots. They must have had a disheartening ski. It helps to be good on hills to do this route. The hard snow did make some of the downhills exciting.
