Early morning skate ski, before any grooming started. With the week-end's traffic, the skate track is hard packed and rutted, making balance tricky. A lot of ruts also from maintenance equipment. The classic tracks still seem to be in remarkably good shape on most of the loop.
Once groomed it should all be excellent. And it's great to have the stadium loops fully open. According to my GPS entire loop with all nooks and crannies is just over 4km.
Mooney's Bay offers skiing inside the Ottawa city limits! There are 5.5 km of groomed trails for classic and skate with some portions lit at night. Perfect for after work. Perfect for the entire family. To view course offerings: Ottawa 2021/2022 Recreation Registration Page.

The indoor facility will be open from mid December through early March (weather permitting), at the following times: 9 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday.
