Kanata Nordic

Trails Skied: 101 North, 102, TCT, Glide Wax: , Grip Wax:

Conditions are gradually deteriorating, especially for classic. Trail 101 and 102 have a lot of vegetation coming through, especially in the classic tracks. The Watts Creek path has pavement coming through in many places in the classic tracks, I was skiing out of them more than I was in them. The TCT is still OK, but even there there were some gravel patches starting to wear through. Skate ski would still be mostly OK and 3-flake on the TCT and Watts Creek for today. At this point I might not ski again until we get at least a dusting of new snow. If skate skiers do head out, it might be better to park at a TCT / Watts Creek trailhead to avoid the poor conditions on the KN trails.

Kanata Nordic

Kanata Nordic ski club is a volunteer-run club dedicated to promoting lifelong activity, fitness and enjoyment of the outdoors through a variety of cross-country ski programs and activities offered in a friendly club setting. Established in 1979, Kanata Nordic now calls Wesley Clover Parks home with a growing trail-network for all skiers to enjoy. The club is a member of Cross Country Ontario (CCO) and Cross Country Canada (CCC).

The club grooms and maintains approx. 18km of trails at 401 Corkstown Road.

Trails are groomed 5 times per week by volunteer groomers. Tracksetting occurs after each significant snowfall and just prior to Saturday lessons (usually January through March). Trail conditions will vary depending on snowfall and snow conditions. Access to the club trails requires a membership or day-pass.
