Gatineau Park

Trails Skied: #50, Gatineau Pkwy, #36 (black), #36 (blue), Glide Wax: yellow, Grip Wax: skins

Classic skied P20 to P3. 50 to 36 tracked and in great shape for classic - a little gravelly for skaters. 36 started fine but turned into a rock garden as it skirts Meech Lake, in large part due to the throngs of hikers that walk that stretch from P8. Would not recommend unitl there is a good dump of snow.Skied into Chelsea for refueling - then used the new 79 (Brazilian fat bike trail)to link up with the Gatineau Parkway. 79 was a little rocky in a couple of spots- but mfor the most part had plenty of snow. By then I appreciated the boring, predictable Gatineau Parkway for the ski down to Gamelin.

Gatineau Park is ski paradise! The network of ski trails offer machine groomed skate skiing and classic skiing as well as little groomed backcountry trails. Multiple access points allow skiers to access a variety of terrain and scenery. The NCC offers season or daily pay rates.
